The groundbreaking ceremony of the new five-storey Advanced Level Science Complex at Isipathana College marked a significant milestone in the institution's continued commitment to academic excellence and educational development.
The landmark project was generously funded by distinguished Isipathana alumnus Dr. Jagath Alwis, who committed an estimated investment of Rs. 520 million towards constructing a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to strengthening the college's Advanced Level Science education.
The proposed complex was designed to bring the entire A/L Science section under one roof, featuring 14 classrooms, staff rooms, an ICT room and a 300-seat lecture hall, with direct access to the existing Biology, Chemistry and Physics laboratories.
Having the honour of hosting the groundbreaking ceremony, Saad Mazhar was entrusted with guiding the proceedings of an occasion that brought together distinguished old boys, school officials, project stakeholders and invited guests. The event celebrated not only the commencement of a major infrastructure project but also the generosity, vision and lasting commitment of an alumnus investing in the future of his alma mater.
The ceremony represented more than the beginning of a construction project; it symbolised an investment in generations of future students and the continued advancement of science education at Isipathana College.
